Your Celestial Soundtrack: A Playlist for Sagittarius Season
Sagittarius Season is made for the daredevil as much as the dreamers.
Silver confetti is strewn on a vodka-sticky floor. Someone stole a motorcycle, and another person is reading Carlos Castaneda. Still hungover, a group is doing sunrise yoga. Everything is real, but nothing hurts anymore. Something about how your cells are hugged by collective debauchery and a new perspective. Things get red hot; things get absurd. And, for once, you feel hopeful, like living can be easy. Everyone is in it to win it, and no one is afraid of losing.
All it took was a bender of bodies, drugs, and screaming our dreams at each other. That is the inspiration behind this Sagittarius season playlist's British baggy, acid house, stoned punk vibes.
Sagittarius Season is made for the daredevil as much as the dreamers. It is made for the schemers as much as the serious spiritual students. It is made for a next-day ticket on Spirit Airlines to a destination chosen by our one-night lover. Sagittarius Season opens us up to possibility, where we believe in everything – and by believing, we make our own rules and truths.
Sagittarius might be here for a good time, not a long time, but that's part of their charm. To make love on a pile of sticks in the woods is as good a story as any, and what are we living for, if not the story? Anyone dour or sour gets a faceful of vicious and enthusiastic arguments to buck up and stop whining. Joining in on the adventure is not up for debate, and Sagittarius will text you a ten-page treatise on why before leaving you in the dust.
I made this playlist for those who are ready to ride. My hope is that you are both thoroughly inspired and exhausted after listening to it.
It was created as a felt-sense experience of astrology. You can learn more about the aspects of Sagittarius Season here: we are in for pure and utter chaos, but there is something rather beautiful about that during one of the most positively and joyfully reckless, wonder-driven seasons.
This almost four-house playlist is made for moving and shaking, including acid house classics from the raving craze of the '90s, the spiritual madness of dance-loving Manchester of the same time, some purely rowdy stripper jams, Palestinian and Arab hip-hop and house, and a bit of yearning punk rock.
The Pregame is the first shot or the crackle of the joint to get the party started. The Sneaking Out is the part where we climb out our window and do what we like – parents and authorities be damned. The Convenience Store is where we shoplift, break bottles, and sing loudly in our car on the way there. By the time we get to The Life of The Party, we are nice, toasty, and blissed out on dancing. Inevitably, we are offered something-something, which is where The Ecstasy comes in. Later, we feel it in all ways, maybe thinking too hard and grinding too hard, but we can't stop dancing. That is The Agony. Finally, we welcome The Comedown, even if it feels uncomfortable. We wake up ready to start all over again with The Afterglow.
